Liverpool Sound CityLiverpool Sound City will host the most exciting new names in music this year. Headliners White Lies - already chart toppers with debut album To Lose My Life... - promise to be one of the most talked about acts at the festival which takes place from Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd May 2009.

Last year's Capital of Culture will be this year's 'Nucleus of New Music' with pop starlet Little Boots joining the West London band and making her first UK festival appearance this year at SoundCity. Fresh from wowing US audiences it will be a North West homecoming for the Blackpool singer. She is joined at the city centre music festival by hot favourites The Black Lips.

Featuring Reverend and the Makers' Jon McClure and Joe Moskow, Babyshambles' Drew McConnell, former Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson and current Monkey Matt Helders and rapper Lowkey, supergroup Mongrel will be heading to Merseyside for SoundCity too.

Cage the Elephant shot to prominence in 2008 as the Kentucky rockers released their eponymous debut album and will be joined at SoundCity by fellow Americans, Atlanta band Deerhunter. With Liverpool synonymous with creativity and talent, SoundCity will once again serve as a launch pad for some of this year's most significant artists.

It's not just a series of fantastic gigs but there's a conference to; find out everything you need to know to get into the music bizz.

In total, more than 400 acts from around the world will play to 25,000 people across 30 of Liverpool's most prestigious venues for four days. Early Bird tickets cost £35, with regular tickets £60 in advance and £80 on the door. Festival and conference passes are priced at £99 for Early Bird and at £120 for regular tickets.
