eHealth Cluster August 2016

The Liverpool Ehealth Cluster produces a monthly newsletter featuring opportunities for people in the Digital and Health sector. As we love this project and indeed won the first Health Care Hackathon we always reproduce the e-Health cluster news here.

New opportunities through eHealth Connect, Ireland
Any digital SMEs looking to team up with Irish partners…the cluster has developed a link with Department for International Trade in Dublin and with eHealth Connect. They have a series of events coming up based around their 10 strategic programmes.

EHealth Cluster at Northern Enterprise Conference 2016
13th October 2016

The Northern Enterprise Conference is a one-day event that brings together for enterprising, socially minded businesses from all sectors to explore partnerships and collaborative opportunities that create positive social impact.. As part of the conference, we are running a masterclass - New Models of Collaboration – Clusters with Impact, and the whole event aims to showcase innovation and best practice in the social sector, creating recognition for leading practitioners and businesses. New European Funding for Health and Care Innovation in Liverpool City Region
The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government recently announced that a partnership led by NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group has been successful in securing £1.8m European Regional Development Fund. The funding, matched by that of partners, will establish a Health Enterprise Hub to support small local businesses develop and commercialise innovative products and services for the health and care industry.

NHS Liverpool CCGs partners in this initiative are Aimes Grid Services, Alder Hey NHS Trust, Innovation Agency, LCR LEP, LJMU, and MerseyCare NHS Trust. The partners will be working specifically with those companies working in digital, creative, technology, data, analytics/machine learning, device, sensor and manufacture sectors, companies that can generate healthcare and societal benefits.

The Health Enterprise Hub will be launching later this year. In the meantime if you are interested in finding out more and how you can get involved please contact the eHealth Cluster.

 

“Future Fest”, Alder Hey’s Hackathon in the Park
21st and 22nd September 2016
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust have asked us to tell you about their upcoming hackathon, Future Fest, which aims to  bring together 150 – 200 participants from different professions to solve (or hack) health and wellbeing problems. Challenges will be pitched by residents, clinicians, gardeners, healthcare professionals, patients and parents and participants will form teams to find a solution to one of these challenges. Integrated Health and Care Mission to China 
December 2016
The Department for International Trade is asking people to register interest in a unique Integrated Health and Care trade event for the China market. They will be running an Integrated Health and Care mission to Hangzhou (5 December 2016), Shanghai (6 - 7 December) and Guangzhou (8 - 9 December) where they will take a select group of companies and organisations and introduce them to a powerful set of project owners. There will also be an extension visit to Hong Kong with meetings with customers set up for Monday 12 December.
